TEDDY BEAR HOSPITAL

Teddy Bear Hospital is a Europe-wide scheme aiming to tackle ”white coat syndrome" in 4-6 year olds.
We recruit volunteers to visit pupils in local infant schools and teach them about aspects of what it is like to visit the doctors or the hospital.
A session involves small groups of children rotating around a number of stations with different aims such as;
-
Exposure to different types of equipment such as X-Ray
-
The different types of health care professionals and how to call an ambulance.
-
One of the highlights is the children taking a teddy to the teddy clinic – students are teddy doctors in a one to one/two ratio and take medical histories, “examine” and “treat” the teddy.
